What is planned?
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2013
The NWH Group Ltd, the prospective applicant, hereby gives notice of a Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) to be undertaken in advance of the submission of a planning application to Midlothian Council for a prospective development comprising the operation of a recycling facility, recycling imported waste and landfill materials and the ultimate infilling of the landfill void space with inert materials unsuitable for recycling and clay materials created as a by-product of recycling, at Middleton Lower Quarry, North Middleton, Gorebridge. In accordance with the Regulations, a public event is to be held at North Middleton Village Hall, 54 Borthwick Castle Terrace, Gorebridge, EH23 4QU on Tuesday 24th January 2023 at 7pm. The event will include a presentation of the prospective development and opportunity for public discussion with the prospective applicant and representatives from Dalgleish Associates Ltd, planning and environmental consultants. Details of the proposal are available for viewing online on Dalgleish Associates’ website (www.dalgleishassociates.co.uk). Comment sheets will be available at the public meeting for any members of the public or interested
parties who wish to make written comment. Alternatively, written comments, in relation to the proposal, may be sent by letter or email to Dalgleish Associates Ltd no later than 16th March 2022. Please note that this is a pre-application consultation and that any comments made at this stage should be directed to the Applicants and will be considered in the finalisation of the planning application. It should also be noted that comments made to the Applicants are not representations to the Planning Authority. When the Applicants submit the application to Midlothian Council there will be an opportunity for interested parties to view the finalised proposals and to make representations to the Planning Authority at that time.
