NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR CONFIRMATION OF
THE PORT OF SUNDERLAND BYELAWS 2026
Notice is hereby given that The Council of the City of Sunderland, as the statutory harbour authority in respect of the Port of Sunderland, intend to apply to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation of (a) the Port of Sunderland Byelaws 2026 made in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Sunderland Corporation Act 1972, Local Government Act 1972 and the Harbours, Docks, Piers Clauses Act 1847 and (b) the revocation of the Port of Sunderland Byelaws 1978. During a period of one calendar month from the date of publication of this Notice, a copy of the said Byelaws will be kept at the offices of the Council at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA and will be open to public inspection, on any weekday during normal office hours. Copies of the Byelaws can also be provided upon request. Any objection to the confirmation of the Byelaws should be made in writing and addressed for the attention of Julie Daniel, Senior Policy Adviser, Ports and Shipping Team, Department for Transport, 4th Floor, Great Minster House, 33 Horseferry Road, London, SW1P 4DR, within six weeks of the date of publication of this Notice.
