What is happening?

Temporary Closure of The Street, Motcombe

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along The Street, Motcombe outside Post Office as indicated by signage on site. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 27th October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 6th November 2026.

This Order will enable R. Moore Contractors to carry out sewer connection works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Closure of Whitings Bridge, Guys Marsh, Cann

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2nd November 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13th November 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential maintenance works to the bridge.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary road closure on Whitings Bridge, Guys Marsh, Cann as indicated by signs on site.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Leigh

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, LEIGH; CHETNOLE ROAD, between the entrance to St Andrews Church and Orchard House, a distance of approximately 150 metres.

CHETNOLE ROAD, between its junction with Back Drove and its junction with Alton Mead Lane, a distance of approximately 240 metres.

C45, between its junction with Church Lane and a point approximately 170 metres north.

BACK DROVE, between its junction with Chetnole Road and its junction with South Street, a distance of approximately 245 metres.

SHERBORNE ROAD, between its junction with Chetnole Road and its junction with Miz Maze, a distance of approximately 215 metres.

SOUTH STREET, between The Orchard and the entrance to Whitehall Farm, a distance of approximately 75 metres.

The closures will be phased to allow for diversion routes.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 27 October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 03 December 2026

This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out sewer maintenance works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, CHETNOLE; DEEP FORD LANE, between the entrance to Street Farm and its junction with Drunch Lane, a distance of approximately 60 metres.

DUNCH LANE, between its junction with Deep Ford Lane and a point of approximately 90 metres east.

DEEP FORD LANE, between its junction with Yetminster Road and a point of approximately 35 metres east.

YETMINSTER ROAD, between its junction with Deep Ford Lane and the entrance to Tamarisk, a distance of approximately 85 metres.

BATCOMBE LANE, between its junction with Neals Lane and its junction with Lamb Plot, a distance of approximately 255 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 05 November 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out sewer maintenance works.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Sherborne - Night Works

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 20:00 - 06:00 on 26th October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31st October 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surfacing works.

The effect of the order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Various Roads Sherborne as listed

(i) A352 Ottery Lane, Sherborne, between junction with Horsecastles and junction with Westbury.

(ii) A352, Sherborne, between junction with Westbury and a point approximately 50 metres South.

(iii) Westbury, Sherborne, between junction with A352 and a point approximately
50 metres North.

Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
