Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians – (Public Footpath No. 3 (part) and Public Footpath No. 6 in the Parish of Leighton and Public Footpath No. 20 (part) in the Parish of Crewe)
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restriction) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following public footpaths:
That length of Public Footpath No. 3 in the Parish of Leighton which commences at its junction with the access road off Middlewich Road at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 6821 5748 and runs easterly for 254m to its junction with Minshull New Road at OSGR SJ 6846 5746.
The entire length of Public Footpath No. 6 in the Parish of Leighton which commences at its junction with Public Footpath No.3 in the Parish of Leighton at OSGR SJ 6826 5746 and runs south, south easterly for 321m to its junction with Public Footpath No. 20 in the Parish of Crewe at OSGR SJ 6833 5725.
That length of Public Footpath No. 20 in the Parish of Crewe which commences at its junction with Public Footpath No. 6 in the Parish of Leighton at OSGR SJ 6833 5725 and runs southerly for 100m to its junction with Brian Palin Way at OSGR SJ 6834 5715.
All directions are general and all distances are approximate. The closure is necessary to protect the public from dangers posed by works being undertaken to construct a residential development.
The Order will come into force on 20th October and will continue in force for a period of six months from that date or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
