NOTICE OF MISSING LANDLORD / FREEHOLDER LEASEHOLD REFORM, HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACT 1993 (“The Act”)
Take notice that Jonathan Stuart Butler Frere on behalf of the qualifying tenants of the property known as Contra, 40-43 Upper Belgrave Road, Bristol BS8 2XW (“the Property”) desires to serve notice on the current freeholder/landlord(s) of two unregistered freehold parcels of the Property whose identity is unknown (“the Parcels”). The Parcels were let under a lease or leases dated 4th September 1833 for a term of 1000 years from 25 March 1834. The landlords were stated to be John Cornish; John Cornish and John Charles Stuart; Elizabeth Rutherford; Sarah Danger; Charles Orchard of addresses unknown (“the Original Landlords”) and the tenant was stated to be Charles Orchard (“the 1833 Leases”).
The current freehold owner/landlord(s) of the Parcels are unknown and their whereabouts cannot now be ascertained and the qualifying tenants of the Property are considering whether to apply to the county court for a Vesting Order under section 26 of the Act.
Any person claiming a legal or beneficial interest in the reversion of the 1833 Leases so far as they relate to the Parcels as a successor, heir, or personal representative to the estate of the Original Landlords is required to make themselves known, providing written evidence of their title and interest, within 14 days of the publication of this notice to the solicitors acting for Mr Frere, by contacting Michael Hansom of Battens Solicitors Limited by post to 7 Gay Street, Bath BA1 2PH or by Email: mike.hansom@battens.co.uk or telephone on 01225 536871 quoting reference: MH/144045.0001.
