Medway Council as Local Planning Authority has received the following applications which are being advertised to ascertain the views of persons living near the sites and other interested parties. The proposed developments relate to one or more of the following:

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council has made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a new three-phase service cable to be installed in a trench -

Cloisterham Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic outside No. 44 Cloisterham Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. No alternative route is available. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

This order will come into force on Monday, 5 October 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 5 October 2026 and are programmed for completion within 10 days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(CHURCH STREET, CLIFFE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council has made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable telephone pole maintenance to be carried out -

Church Street, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic for approximately 40 metres on either side of the frontage of Nos. 128 and 128A Church Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Higham Road, West Street and Buttway Lane in both directions.

This order will come into force on Saturday, 10 October 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within one day. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable communication pipe repairs to be carried out -

Gillingham Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 215 Gillingham Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Nelson Road and Napier Road in both directions.

This order will come into force on Monday, 26 October 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 26 October 2026 and are programmed for completion within five days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 2) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a defective manhole frame and cover to be replaced.

Grange Road, Strood - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction with Grove Road to 46 Grange Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Vicarage Road, Frindsbury Road and Grove Road in both directions.

This order will come into force on Friday, 30 October 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within one day, between 8.30am and 6.30pm. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a new water supply connection to be installed.

Cornwallis Avenue, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from 143 Cornwallis Avenue to Cornwallis Roundabout. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be provided and signed via Ito Way, Sovereign Boulevard, the A2 and Woodlands Road in both directions.

This order will come into force on Monday, 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 40 days, by 20 November 2026. Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a sunken manhole frame and cover to be replaced.

Hempstead Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between its junction with Hempstead Valley Drive and a point in line with 43A Hempstead Road between 7pm on 29 October and 5.30am on 30 October 2026. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be provided and signed via Hempstead Valley Drive, Pear Tree Lane, Capstone Road, Ash Tree Lane, Watling Street and Hoath Way in both directions.

This order will come into force on Thursday, 29 October 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within one night, by 30 October 2026. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply repairs to be carried out.

Canterbury Street, Gillingham - the left-turn lane at its junction with Watling Street to be closed to all vehicular traffic. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be provided and signed via Watling Street, Rainham Road, Chatham Hill, Luton Arches Roundabout, Chatham Hill, Rainham Road and Watling Street.

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a new water connection to be installed.

Wellington Road, Gillingham - from its junction with Canterbury Street for 30 metres in a north-easterly direction to be closed to all vehicular traffic. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be provided and signed via Seaview Road, Gillingham Road and Canterbury Street in both directions.

This order will come into force on Monday, 2 November 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. This order will come into force on Monday, 26 October 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on that date and are programmed for completion within five days, with works taking place between 8am and 6pm. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

The works are due to commence at 10pm on Thursday, 8 October 2026 and are programmed for completion by 5am on Friday, 9 October 2026. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
