Do you have the time and skills to make a positive and independent contribution to the Board of Directors of Canenco as a Non-Executive Director?

We are looking to appoint two independent Non-Executive Directors to the Board.

The Canterbury Environment Services Company Limited is a Local Authority Trading Company (LATCo) owned by Canterbury City Council with contracts to provide waste collection, recycling, street cleansing, grounds maintenance and environmental services.

Shortlisting criteria

Director or Management level experience with a market leader or a large local authority environmental services department in:

• Waste collection and recycling

• Public sector contract management

• Public sector procurement

• Regulated service delivery

• Local authority governance

• Audit, risk and assurance

• Street cleansing, grounds maintenance and environmental services

Independence: Given the independent nature of this role, you should be someone who has no connection with the council in terms of employment or serving as a councillor, no former business or other relationship with the council and is over 18 years of age.

Terms of appointment: You will be required to attend meetings once a month daytime or evenings. An allowance of £5,000 remuneration per year is payable for this role.
