Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath AU21 between the start of the field behind Canterbury Road and Public Footpath AU22 from the 29 October 2026.
The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.
The path is to be closed because works are planned on or near it.
The alternative route is via the start of the field behind Canterbury Road and Public Footpath AU20 and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF KENT
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS AW25 (part) and AW93 (part) AT EGERTON)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order was made on 9 September 2026 under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed, it will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding:
a) a part of Public Footpath AW25, with a width of 1.5 metres, which commences on an unaffected length of Public Footpath AW25 at NGR TQ 9175 4745 (pointA) and runs west for 466 metres to its connection with Public Footpath AW85 at NGR TQ 9128 4745 (point B), as shown between the points A-B on the Order plan;
b) a part of Public Footpath AW93, with a width of 1.5 metres, which commences on an unaffected length of Public Footpath AW93 at NGR TQ 9141 4755 (point C) and runs south-west for 145 metres to its connection with a point on a length of Public Footpath AW25 to be added by this Order at NGR TQ 9130 4745 (point D), as shown between the points C-D on the Order plan.
The above Order will also modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by deleting:
a) a part of Public Footpath AW25, which commences at the aforementioned point A and runs west for 497 metres to its connection with Public Footpaths AW25, AW85, and AW92 at NGR TQ 9125 4747 (point E), as shown between the points A-E on the Order plan;
b) a part of Public Footpath AW93, which commences at the aforementioned point C and runs south-west for 124 metres to its connection with a point on a length of Public Footpath AW25 to be deleted by this Order at NGR TQ 9131 4747 (point F) as shown between the points C-F on the Order plan.
All distances are approximate, all directions are general.
A copy of the Order and Map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at the Ashford Gateway Plus, Church Road, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1AS or at the Kent History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1LQ, from 10am-5pm. The documents can also be viewed online at www.kent.gov.uk/prownotices or a copy can be

Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent or delivered in writing to Maria McLauchlan at the Kent County Council (address as below; email as above) no later than 13 November 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.
If no such representations or objections are duly made to the Order (or to any part of it), or if any so made are withdrawn, the Kent County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the Authority has by Notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the Order). If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment (in whole or in part), any representations or objections which have been duly made and not been withdrawn will be sent with it.

Notice of the making of an Order to temporarily close Public Footpath CH23 in the Parish of Herne & Broomfield

Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath CH23 between NGR TR 1780 6635 and TR 1787 6632, to the east of Thanet Way of from the 05 October 2026.
The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.
The path is closed because of the construction of a new path at the crossing of the Spine Road.
The alternative route is via a diversion on site and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

The Secretary of State for Transport has directed that the Order made by Kent County Council on the 08 April 2024, the effect of which was to prohibit all traffic from Public Footpath CW89 has been extended for a further 09 months, until the 08 October 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earliest The path is closed between Richmond Road and its junction with Public Footpath CW88
An alternative route is available and will be signed on site.

DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order was made on 9 September 2026 under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed, it will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by amending the statement to add a width as recorded in the Magistrates’ Court Diversion Order dated 15 October 1929 as follows:
10 feet (3.05 metres) from its connection with Public Bridleway HE285 at NGR TR 1630 3592 (point A on the Order plan) to the former Sheepwash at NGR TR 1646 3575 (point B on the Order plan).
6 feet (1.83 metres) from the former Sheepwash at NGR TR 1646 3575 (point B on the Order plan) to its connection with Public Footpath HB23 at NGR TR 1671 3543 (point C on the Order plan).
A copy of the Order and Map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at the offices of Folkestone & Hythe District Council, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkstone, Kent, CT20 2QY or at the Kent County Council, History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1LQ, from 10am-5pm. Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath KMX7 between its junction with footpath KMX19 to its junction with the path that runs from Park Avenue & Public Footpath KMX19 from its junction with Knowle Road to its junction with KMX7 from the 05 October 2026
The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected
KMX19 will re-open after 3-4 weeks and KMX7 will re-open by 12 December 2026 The path is closed because works are planned on or near it to replace the failed retaining wall.
There will be no alternative route for KMX19 and the alternative route for KMX7 is via the adjoining footways.

The Secretary of State for Transport has directed that the Order made by Kent County Council on the 03 April 2026, the effect of which was to prohibit all traffic from Public Footpath MR492 has been extended for a further 6 months, until the 03 April 2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier
The path is closed between the junction of MR492 and Station Road and just north of the junction of Public Footpaths MR492 and MR491.
The alternative route is via MR491 and the pavement alongside Station Road and will be signed for the duration of the closure.
