NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Crompton Road, Macclesfield 

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Crompton Road, Macclesfield – From the junction of Preston Street West to the junction of Park Lane.

The alternative route will be via Park Lane, Oxford Road, Bedford Road, Brough Street West, Crompton Road and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Friday 1st October 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Sunday 1st November 2026.

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Church Street, Macclesfield – from outside property number 29 to the junction of Back Wallgate. 

The alternative route will be via Church Street, Queen Victoria Street, Back Wallgate and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Tuesday 13th October 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Wednesday 21st October 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 35 (PART) IN THE PARISH OF KETTLESHULME AND LYME HANDLEY) – Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians Order 2026

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 35 which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9540 8387 and runs in a generally east north east direction for approx. 957m to OSGR SJ 9630 8412. 

The closure is necessary to protect public safety due to the poor condition of the footbridge and the risk it presents to users. 

The closure continues the restriction that came into force on 3rd September 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed.

The Order does not prevent at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the path or way affected by this Order
