What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Lancashire County Council intends, after expiry of the period mentioned below, to apply to the Secretary of State for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, for confirmation of Byelaws made by the Council under section 19 of the Public Libraires and Museums Act 1964.

The current and draft Byelaws can be reviewed online Lancashire libraries policies - Lancashire County Council

Copies of the Byelaws will be kept at Lancashire Archives and Local History, Bow Lane, Preston PR1 2RE, and will be open to inspection, without payment on any weekday (except Monday) during the hours of 09:00-17:00 for one calendar month from the date of publication of this notice. Copies of the Byelaws will also be supplied on receipt of an application accompanied by a payment of £1.00 (plus postage) for each copy.

Any objection to the confirmation of these Byelaws can be made, by letter, to Libraries Team, Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 100 Parliament Street, London SW1A 2BQ
