KENT COUNTY COUNCIL AS LOCAL AUTHORITY
Statutory proposal to broaden the designation of the specialist resourced provision at Hythe Bay Church of England Primary School, from January 2027
Notice is given in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Kent County Council is proposing to alter the specialist resource provision (SRP) at Hythe Bay Church of England Primary School.
The SRP at Hythe Bay CE Primary School is has provision for up to 22 pupils with speech language and communication needs (SLCN).
In order to meet the changing needs of pupils, SRPs now need to provide for pupils who may have wider communication needs in addition to purely speech and language. This may include SLCN and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The accommodation and site at Hythe Bay CE Primary School can support pupils with both need types.

Within four weeks from the date of publication, any person may send in a response supporting, objecting or commenting on the proposals to Lee Round, Area Schools Organisation Officer (South Kent) at the above address or email school.consultations@kent.gov.uk. The closing date for comments is Thursday 22nd October 2026.
