PRIMARY SCHOOL – PUBLIC MEETING
The Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Committee of Dumfries and Galloway Council has agreed to consult on the proposal for the closure of Ae Primary School.
In accordance with the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010 as amended, Dumfries and Galloway Council now wishes to seek views on this proposal from interested parties. The consultation period runs from Thursday 27 August to Friday 9 October 2026. A public meeting will be held to discuss the proposal, anyone with an interest in the proposals are invited to attend.
Tuesday 15th September 2026 6pm – Ae Primary School Copies of the published proposal document will be available from Thursday 27 August at the following locations:

(C4N LOCHARBRIGGS – GLENCORSE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close C4n outside No.33 Quarry Road, Locharbriggs, Dumfries from 0930 on 09/09/26 to 0700 on 10/09/26. The closure is necessary to facilitate ironwork repairs.
Alternative route available via C4n, C2n, C11n, A701 and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(C7N CATHERINEFIELD) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) No. 2 ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close C7n Catherinefield Road, Dumfries between the junction of U204n and beyond Catkin Cottage from 0800 on 07/09/26 to 1700 on 14/09/26. The closure is necessary to facilitate trial pits to establish location and depth of existing water mains. Alternative route available via A709, A75, A701 and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(U750N GORDON STREET CARPARK) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U750n Gordon Street Carpark, Dumfries (full extend) from 0800 on 08/09/2026 to 1700 on 09/10/2026. The closure is necessary to facilitate building of new power substation as part of the Dumfries Flood Prevention Scheme. No alternative route available. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
