REVIEW OF EDUCATION PROVISION AT DALRY SECONDARY SCHOOL – PUBLIC MEETING
The Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Committee of Dumfries and Galloway Council has agreed to consult on the proposal for the closure of Dalry Secondary School.
In accordance with the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010, Dumfries and Galloway Council now wishes to seek views on this proposal from interested parties. The consultation period runs from Thursday 27 August to Friday 9 October 2026. A public meeting will be held to discuss the proposal, and anyone with an interest in the proposals is invited to attend:

Copies of the published proposal document will be available from Thursday 27 August 2026 at the following locations:

(B727 HIGH STREET – PARKING SUSPENSION) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily suspend parking on B727 High Street, Gatehouse of Fleet between Digby Street and Ann Street, (both sides) & between Mile End, Woodside Terrace and Laurieston Road, (both sides) from 08:00 on 07/09/26 to 17:00 on 09/09/2026. The closure is necessary to facilitate traffic management for excavation works
to clear BT duct blockages. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(U19S BARCAPLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) No. 2 ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U19s between its junction with U163s and the Gas Distribution Station, Ringford, Castle Douglas from 0800 to 1700 on 08/09/26. The closure is necessary to facilitate BT pole replacement. Alternative route available via U163s, A75TR, A762, U29s, U19s and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(U29S LOCHHILL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U29s from The Granary, Lochhill, Ringford to its junction with U19s at Barcaple High Lodge from 0800 to 1700 on 03/09/26. The closure is necessary to facilitate BT pole replacement works. Alternative route available via U19s, U163s, TR A75, U25s, U29s and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(U67S CULNAIGHTRIE AND BLUEHILL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U67s between its junction with U89s and Bluehill Farm, Auchencairn from 0800 to 1700 on 08/09/26. The closure is necessary to facilitate BT pole replacement works. Alternative route available via U67s, A711, U67s and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(U508S BARHILL ROAD) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U508s Barhill Road, Dalbeattie from the junction of Barhill Crescent to outside Hygge from 1200 on 09/09/26 to 1200 on 11/09/26. The closure is necessary to facilitate substation replacement works. Alternative route available via Barhill Road, Southwick Road, High Street, John Street and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
