Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable tree cutting to keep branches away from power lines -

Cooling Street, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from a point outside Park Lane Cottage for approximately 215 metres in a northerly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Perry Hill. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

This Order will come into force on Friday, 18 September 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Friday, 18 September 2026 and are programmed for completion within 1 day. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS)

(AMENDMENT NO.45A) ORDER 2026

NOTICE OF MAKING

Saxton Street, Gillingham ME7 5EH

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 18 August 2026 made the abovementioned Order under sections 1, 2, 45, 46, 53 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The general effect of the Amendment Order, which comes into operation on 24 August 2026, will be to reduce the parking bay outside No.132 Saxton Street by 1 metre, to accommodate an extension of the narrow dropped kerb (vehicle crossing).

Copies of the Order and associated documents can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply repairs to be carried out -

Hospital Lane, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic at its junction with High Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via High Street, Gundulph Road and St Bartholomews Lane in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 4 days. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

OLD ROAD, CHATHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a new water connection to be made -

Old Road, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between its junction with The Mount to its junction with Gibraltar Hill. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via (a) North-eastbound traffic: Gibraltar Hill, Railway Street Roundabout, Gibraltar Hill and New Road; and (b) all other traffic: New Road and Gibraltar Hill.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 1 September 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 7 days. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply repairs to be carried out -

Portland Street, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 3 Portland Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Magpie Hall Road, Listmas Road and Waghorn Street in both directions.
