NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Wood Lane North, Adlington

Notice Is Hereby Given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Wood Lane North, Adlington – For the full extent.

No diversion is required.
This order will come into operation on Monday 7th September 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 2nd October 2026.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Castle Hill, Prestbury

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Castle Hill, Prestbury – From Number 35 to Chelford Road Prestbury.

The alternative route will be via Castle Hill, Wilmslow Road, Prestbury Road, Hough Lane Roundabout, Hough Lane, Adlington Road, Adlington Road Roundabout, Woodford Road Roundabout, Woodford Road, King Street, Church Lane, Chester Road, Manchester East Airport Link, Roy Chadwick Way, London Road, Flash Lane Roundabout, Silk Road, Ball Lane Roundabout, The Silk Road, Brocklehurst Roundabout, Hurdsfield Road Roundabout, Hibel Road, Beech Lane, Manchester Road, Heybridge Lane, Prestbury Lane, New Road, The Village and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Tuesday 1st September 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 11th September 2026.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Meadow Drive, Prestbury

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Meadow Drive, Prestbury – Outside house number 2 to house number 4.

The alternative route will be from Meadow Drive and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Tuesday 1st September 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Monday 14th September 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS/ USERS 2026 – Public Footpaths No. 7 and 21 In the Parish of Little Bollington and Agden

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following: 

That length of Public Footpath No. 21 in the Parish of Little Bollington and Agden which commences at the junction with Footpath No.20 at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 7210 8705 and runs in a generally north easterly direction and then continues in a south easterly direction for approx. 473 m to the junction with Footpath No. 7 at OSGR SJ 7242 8701.

That length of Public Footpath No. 7 in the Parish of Little Bollington and Agden which commences at the junction with Footpath No.21 at OSGR SJ 7242 8701 and runs in a generally north easterly direction for approx. 224 m to the junction with Footpath No. 8 at OSGR SJ 7264 8708.

The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public posed by a bridge that is in a poor state of repair. 

The closure continues the restriction that came into force on 29th July 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed.
