PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

On 29 July 2026 the Kent County Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order, as confirmed is to divert the entire width of that length of Public Footpath numbered CH23 which commences at its junction with the unaffected length of Public Footpath CH23 at NGR TR 1721 6664 (point A) and runs in a northeast, north-northwest and then north-northeast direction for 151 metres to NGR TR 1723 6678 (point B). At this point there is a connection with Public Footpath CH24. The path then continues in an east then northeast direction for 99 metres to its connection with the unaffected length of Public Footpath CH23 at NGR TR 1731 6681 (point C) and the entire width of that length of Public Footpath numbered CH24 which commences at its junction with Public Footpath CH23 at NGR TR 1723 6678 (point B) and runs in a north-northwest direction for 36 metres to its connection with the unaffected length of Public Footpath CH24 at NGR TR 1722 6681 (point D) and to provide a new length of Public Footpath numbered CH23 with a width of 2.0 metres which commences at the previously mentioned point A and runs in a northeast then north direction for 154 metres to NGR TR 1721 6678 (point E), the path then continues in an east then east-northeast direction for 102 metres to its connection with the unaffected length of Public Footpath CH23 at the previously mentioned point C and a new length of Public Footpath numbered CH24 with a width of 2.0 metres which commences at NGR TR 1721 6678 (point E) and runs in a north-northeast then north direction for 30 metres to its connection with the unaffected length of Public Footpath CH24 at the previously mentioned point D. The Order came into force on 29 July 2026 but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act which has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 7 August 2026 make an application to the High Court.

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath CW15 between A2990 Thanet Way and Clapham Hill from the 01 September 2026.

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.

The path is to be closed because of construction works in close proximity.

An alternative route is available via local pavements.

Notice of the making of an Order to temporarily close Public Footpath EE367 in the Parish of Norhbourne

Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath EE367 between the footpath just north of The Drove and Circular Road from the 10 August 2026

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen 04 September 2026

The path is to be closed because works are planned on or near it.

The alternative route is via a footpath to the East of Colliers Way and along Betteshanger Road and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH ER143 (PART), DENTON WITH WOOTTON)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026

The above Order was made on 27 July 2026 under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

The effect of the Order will be to divert the entire width of that length of Public Footpath numbered ER143, which commences at NGR TR 2048 4748 (Point A) and runs in an east then southeasterly direction for 58 metres to NGR TR 2053 4746 (Point B). As shown by the solid black line between Points A-B on the order plan and will add a new length of Public Footpath numbered ER143 with a width of 2.0 metres which commences at the aforementioned Point A and runs in a north northeastesrly direction for 36 metres to NGR TR 2050 4751 (Point C) before continuing in an east southeasterly direction for 52 metres to NGR TR 2054 4748 (Point D). As shown by the bold broken line between points A-C-D on the order plan.

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above-named Order made on 15 July 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert:

a) the entire width of that length of Public Footpath KH68, which commences on an unaffected length of Public Footpath KH68 at NGR TQ 7974 5848 (point A) and runs north and north-east for 110 metres to its connection with another unaffected length of Public Footpath KH68 at NGR TQ 7981 5856 (point B), as shown by a bold continuous line between points A-B on the Order plan; AND

b) the entire width of Public Footpath KH636, which commences at its connection with Public Footpath KH68 at NGR TQ 7994 5859 (point C) and runs east north-east then south-east for 942 metres to its connection with Public Footpath KH113 at NGR TQ 8069 5817 (point D), as shown by a bold continuous line between points C-D on the Order plan.

The above-named Order will also add:

a) a new length of Public Footpath KH68, with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences at the aforementioned point A and runs north north-east, east north-east and north north-east for 112 metres to the aforementioned point B, as shown by a bold broken line between points A-B on the Order plan; AND

b) a new length of Public Footpath KH636, with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences at a new connection with Public Footpath KH68 at NGR TQ 7994 5858 (point E) and runs east north-east, south-east, east north-east, south-east, south, and east south-east for 1,104 metres to the aforementioned point D, as shown by a bold broken line between points E-D on the Order plan.

This consultation is also a consultation on varying the alignment of the North Downs Way National Trail. Natural England is minded to propose that the National Trail is realigned onto the Order route by way of a Variation Report submitted to the Secretary of State. PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above-named Order made on 15 July 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the entire width of that length of Public Footpath KH114, which commences on an unaffected length of Public Footpath KH114 at NGR TQ 8027 5854 (point A) and runs generally south, south south-west and south south-east for 553 metres to its connection with Pilgrims Way at NGR TQ 8027 5801 (point B), as shown between points A-B on the Order plan, and will add a new length of Public Footpath KH114, with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences at the aforementioned point A and runs south-west, east south-east, south, south-west, and south for 589 metres to a new connection on Pilgrims Way at NGR TQ 8028 5800 (point C), as shown between points A-C on the Order plan.
