What is happening?

(SANQUHAR RIDING OF THE MARCHES)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGUALTION ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close various roads in Sanquhar between 7/8/26 and 16/8/26. The closures are necessary to facilitate activities associated with the Riding of the Marches. Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained.

7/8/26 Route – Installation: Town Hall, Church Rd, High St to Tolbooth and return by same route.18:25 to19:10

8/8/26 Route – BBQ: Church Road (at A76 junction) to Station Road – route to rail station remains open, 17:30 to 20:30

9/8/26 Route – Kirkin the Cornet: Tolbooth, South Lochan, McKendrick Road, War Memorial, Glasgow Road, Church Road, St Brides Church, 09:30 to 10:00

14/8/26 Route – Proclamation: Tolbooth, South Lochans, Queens Rd, McKendrick Rd, Glasgow Rd, Church Rd, Queensberry Sq, Church Rd, High St, Renwick Pl, Glendyne Pl, Howies Rd, Castle St, Deerpark Ave, Castle St, High St, Tolbooth, 19:00 to 20:00

15/8/26 Route – Burgh Piper: St Brides Church, Church Rd, High St, Castle St, Greenhead Farm (A76(T)) and return by same route. 06:00 to 07:00

15/8/26 Route – Fencing the Court: Town Hall, Church Road, High Street to Tolbooth and return by the same. 07:50 to 08:20

15/8/26 Route – Main Parade: Queensberry Square, Church Rd, High St, Castle St, Deerpark Ave, Euchan St, Lovedale, Deerpark Ave, Castle St, High St, Church Rd, Queensberry Sq, 13:15 to 14:15

15/8/26 Route- Massed Bands: Town Hall, Church Rd, High St, The Levens, 17:15 to 18:15

16/8/26 Route – Torchlight Procession: Primary School, Lovedale, Deerpark Ave, Castle St, High St, South Lochans, Queens Rd, Washing Green. 21:30 to 22:00

Note in addition to these events Sanquhar ride out events between 9/8/26 and 15/8/26. Drivers should expect minor delays for the duration of these events. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

(DUNSCORE GALA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGUALTION ORDER) ORDER 2026 

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close various roads in Dunscore 8/8/26, 12:30 to 13:30. Parade route: U376n Holm Road, B729, C37n Kirkgate, C111n. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate the Dunscore Gala Parade. No alternative route is available. Minor delays should be expected for the duration of parade. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

C37N DUNSCORE - CORSOCK (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close C37n at Skelston Bank, Dunscore from 0800 on 11/08/26 to 1700 on 24/08/26. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate excavation and reinstatement works to provide new service. Alternative route available via C37n, C116n, B729 and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

U59N BARLOUTH (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U59n at Gairloch Farm, Torthorwald from 09:30 to 15:30 on 10/8/26. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate BT pole replacement works. No alternative route available. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

U3N THE GROVE (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) NO.2 ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U3n its junction with A701 to No.82 The Grove, Heathhall, Dumfries from 0800 to 1700 on 7/8/26. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate Scottish Water lead pipe renewal works. 

Alternative route available via the south entrance to The Grove, Heathhall, Dumfries. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
