THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2017 (AS AMENDED)

Medway Council as Local Planning Authority has received the following applications which are being advertised to ascertain the views of persons living near the sites and other interested parties. The proposed developments relate to one or more of the following:

1. The site of the application is within/affecting the setting of a designated Conservation Area (Section 73) of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990;

2. The application relates to, or affects the setting of a Listed Building (Section 67) of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990;

3. The application is for a Major Development;

Listed building consent for works to erect access scaffold 360 degree to lantern light located on the garrison Gymnasium; to inspect and overhaul the existing slate, hips, batton’s and underlying membrane topping out the lantern. During works to inspect and repair underlying boards, remove and overhaul existing cast iron gutters and furniture. In addition, during the access period, to inspect all glazing frames for potential rot, repair as required; Check all glazing for cracks damage or defective putties; clean back timber work and prep for undercoat and top coat to match existing colour schemes; should sarking felt be present, to remove and replace with F1 grade bituminous felt.

(CHATHAM RAILWAY STATION BUS STOPS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable traffic signal loop and magnetometer stud works to be carried out -

Chatham Railway Station Bus Stops - to be closed to all southbound vehicular traffic between Railway Street and Maidstone Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available and signed. Buses will be diverted around Alexandra roundabout and enter Chatham Station bus bays from the Maidstone Road entrance only.

This Order will come into force on Wednesday, 5 August 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Wednesday, 5 August 2026 and are programmed for completion within 1 evening. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(CHESTNUT AVENUE, CHATHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply repairs to be carried out -

Chestnut Avenue, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic at the junction with Walderslade Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Walderslade Road, Gorse Avenue and Yarrow Road in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 24 August 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 5 days. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

(ESPLANADE, ROCHESTER)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable new fibre optic cable and duct installation works -

Esplanade Rochester –

(a) Eastbound traffic over Rochester Bridge to be prohibited from turning right into Esplanade; and

(b) Northbound traffic in Esplanade to be prohibited from turning right into Corporation Street

Alternative routes will be provided and signed.

This Order came into force on Monday, 20 July 2026, and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

The works were due to commence on or after 20 July, and are programmed for completion by 3 August. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable heavy jetting works to be carried out -

Hoo Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between its junctions with Gambit Way and Wainscott Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via A289 and B2000 in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 4 August 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

The works are due to commence on or after 4 August and are programmed for completion within 1 day. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(GILLINGHAM & BROMPTON) (PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS)

(AMENDMENT NO.45) ORDER 2026

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL

SAXTON STREET, GILLINGHAM ME7 5EH

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2, 45, 46, 53 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The general effect of the Amendment Order will be to reduce the parking bay outside No.132 Saxton Street by 1 metre, to accommodate an extension of the narrow dropped kerb (vehicle crossing).

Copies of the Order and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be inspected at the front reception, Chatham Library, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TX during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except for Bank and public holidays.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic water supply repairs -

Frindsbury Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from outside No. 175 Frindsbury Road to outside No. 235 Frindsbury Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected.

An alternative route will be available via Frindsbury Hill, Frindsbury Road, North Street, High Street, Commercial Road, High Street, London Road, Gravesend Road, Wainscott Northern Bypass, Hasted Road, Four Elms Roundabout, Wulfere Way and Frindsbury Hill, in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 27 July 2026 and are programmed for completion within 5 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 2)

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a new connection to be carried out -

Ratcliffe Highway, St Mary Hoo - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of The Fenn Bell Zoo. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Fenn Street, Ratcliffe Highway, Stoke Road, Allhallows Road, High Street, Grain Road and Malmaynes Hall Road in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Friday, 31 July 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

The works are due to commence on or after Friday, 31 July 2026 and are programmed for completion within 5 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(MARITIME WAY, CHATHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to facilitate bridge waterproofing and resurfacing -

Maritime Way, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the northern side of Maritime Way bridge and and the southern side thereof. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Access to and from St Mary’s Island will be via the lifting bridge at MDL Chatham Maritime Marina at Laviathan Way.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 24 August 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 5 days. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

Marconi Way, Rochester – traffic to be prohibited from turning left from Marconi Way into City Way. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Maidstone Road roundabout and City Way.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
