Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath AW219 between Mock Lane and Chilmington Green Lane from the 29 July 2026.

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen in September 2026.

The path is closed because works are planned to repair and upgrade the surface of the footpath.

There are no alternative routes available.

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH CB399 (PART), WALTHAM)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above-named Order made on 15th July 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the entire width of that length of public footpath CB399 which commences at an unaffected length of Public Footpath CB399 at NGR TR 1236 4844 (Point A on the Order plan) and runs in an easterly to east-south-easterly direction for 456 metres to its connection with Wadden Hall at NGR TR 1281 4836 (Point B). As shown on the Order plan by the bold continuous line between Points A and B

And add a new length of public footpath numbered CB399 with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences at the aforementioned Point A and runs in a southerly direction for 84 meters to NGR TR 1237 4836 (Point C), and then in a south-easterly direction for 24 metres to NGR TR 1239 4835 (Point D) and then in an easterly direction for 279 metres to NGR TR 1267 4833 (Point E), continuing in a north-north-easterly direction for 40 metres to NGR TR 1269 4837 (Point F) then in an east-south-easterly to east-north-easterly direction for 123 metres to its connection with Wadden Hall at NGR TR 1281 4835 (Point G). As shown on the order plan by the broken line between Points A-C-D-E-F-G.

All directions general, all distances approximate.

Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent or delivered in writing to William Barfoot at the Kent County Council (PROW & Access Service, Kent County Council, Sessions House, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1XQ; William.Barfoot@kent.gov.uk) no later than 21 August 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Kent County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath NG1 between 1 Mark Lane, around the back of the yard to where the road ends at the King Charles III England Coastal Path, Grid References TQ 6644 7428 - TQ 6652 7430 from 20 August 2026

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen 15 October 2026.

The path is closed because works are planned on or near it.

The alternative route is via Mark Lane and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Bridleway SR546 between its junction with Public Bridleway SR440 and Watstock Farm from the 21 August 2026

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.

The path is to be closed because works are planned on or near it.

The alternative route will be located just to the south of the legal alignment and signed for the duration of the closure.

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath TE39 between Brook Lane and Jutes Lane from the 17 August 2026

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.

The path is to be closed because archaeological works are planned on or near it.

The proposed alternative route will run parallel to the existing footpath, to the south and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

The Secretary of State for Transport has directed that the Order made by Kent County Council on the 02 January 2024, the effect of which was to prohibit all traffic from Public Footpaths WBX17 and WBX18 has been extended for a further 4 months, until the 01 December 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier

The paths are closed along their entire lengths.

The alternative route is via Clanricarde Road, Lonsdale Gardens and Mount Pleasant Road and will be signed for the duration of the closure.
