Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water
Essex Wildlife Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from an unnamed tributary of Hydemarsh Brook at National Grid References (NGRs) TQ 86633 97247 and TQ 86664 97266 to transfer it to Unnamed drains at NGRs TQ 86634 97212 and TQ 86658 97276 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
• 32 cubic metres an hour • 216 cubic metres a day • 48,838 cubic metres a year.
Abstraction will take place all year round.
The water will be used to maintain levels in a wetland system of drains and scrapes.
