THE LICENSING (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 1996
MAGISTRATES’ COURTS (LICENSING) RULES (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1997

NOTICE is given to all holders of existing retail intoxicating liquor licences which expire
on 30th September 2026 that the statutory date for the renewal of such licences is
1st September 2026.
Notices of Application for renewal must be served not later than 11th August 2026. The
attention of applicants is drawn to the provisions of Article 14 of and Schedule 4 to the
Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 and the Magistrates’ Courts (Licensing) Rules
(Northern Ireland) 1997 (SR 1997 No. 62).
Any person owning or residing or carrying on business in premises in the vicinity of licensed
premises for which renewal is being sought, is entitled to object to the renewal on any of the
grounds specified in Article 15(2) of the above Order and a person intending to object shall,
not later than 25th August 2026.
i. serve upon the applicant notice of his intention to object, briefly stating his grounds for so
doing; and
ii. serve a copy of the notice upon the Clerk of Petty Sessions.
