(Prohibition of Pedestrians) Temporary Order 2026

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 sections 16A – C as inserted by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994 section 1.

Kent County Council intends to temporarily close:-
Footpath AT212 between Plurenden Road and Redbrook Street,
Footpath AT213 between Plurenden Road and Footpath AT212,
Footpath AT216 between Bethersden Road and Shadoxhurst Road,
Footpath AT223 between footpaths AT213 and AT212
from 09:00 on Friday 07 August to 22:00 on Sunday 09 August 2026

The paths will be closed to facilitate the holding of the Aero Legends Battle of Britain Airshow 2026.

There is no alternative route.

Notice of the making of an Order to temporarily close Public Footpath CB64 in the Parish of Sturry

Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath CB64 between Shalloak Road and its junction with Public Footpaths CB61 and CB60 from the 13 July 2026.

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.

The path is closed because of construction works in close proximity.

The alternative route is via a diversion on site and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF KENT

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH CW93 AT SEASALTER, WHITSTABLE)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

On 22 June 2026 the Kent County Council confirmed the above Order without modifications.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a Public Footpath numbered CW93, with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences on Eden Road at NGR TR 0938 6502 (point A) and runs north north-east for 64 metres to its connection with Hazlemere Road at NGR TR 0941 6507 (point B), as shown between points A-B on the Order plan.

All distances are approximate, all directions are general.

A copy of the Order, as confirmed, and Map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at the offices of Canterbury City Council, 14 Rose Lane, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 2UR or at the Kent County Council, History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1LQ, from 10am-5pm. The documents can also be viewed online at www.kent.gov.uk/prownotices or a copy can be obtained by contacting Maria McLauchlan (tel: 03000 41 34 20 or email: maria.mclauchlan@kent.gov.uk).

This Order became operative as from 22 June 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53(3)(c)(i) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, they may, under Paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 10 July 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

Notice of extension of an Order temporarily closing Public Footpath EE174 in the Parish of Wingham

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

The Secretary of State for Transport has directed that the Order made by Kent County Council on the 11 July 2026, the effect of which was to prohibit all traffic from FP EE174 has been extended for a further 6 months, until the 10 January 2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

The path is closed between Miller Close and Staple Road

The alternative route is Miller Close and the southern boundary of the field by Staple Road and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

The Secretary of State for Transport has directed that the Order made by Kent County Council on the 12 January 2026, the effect of which was to prohibit all traffic from Public Footpath MR251 has been extended for a further 4 years, until the 12 July 2030 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier

The path is closed between its junction with Public Footpath MR252 for 123 metres to NGR TQ 6176 5792.

The alternative route is via Restricted Byway MR247B, Public Bridleway MR247A and Public Footpath MR250 and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.

The path is to be closed because works are planned near it at the water treatment works.

The alternative route is along the south and west side of the site boundary and will be signed for the duration of the closure.
