Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable heavy jetting works from a manhole in the carriageway to be carried out -

York Hill, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic in York Hill between its junctions with Constitution Road and Luton Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Ambrose Hill in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Wednesday, 5 August 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Wednesday, 5 August 2026 and are programmed for completion within 1 day. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable overhead electricityvline works to be carried out -

West Street, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of Manor Farm. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Buttway Lane, B2000, Church Street and Higham Road in both directions.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable heavy jetting works to be carried out -

Hoo Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between its junctions with Gambit Way and Wainscott Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via A289 and B2000 in both directions.

(PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS)

(AMENDMENT NO.40) ORDER 2026

NOTICE OF MAKING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 30 June 2026 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2, 45, 46, 51, 53 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The general effect of the Amendment Order will be to remove the parking bay outside No.20 to accommodate a 7.4m dropped kerb (vehicle crossing) for driveway access.

Copies of the Order and associated documents can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

Ratcliffe Highway, St Mary Hoo - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Coombe Farm Lane and the junction with Cuckold Green Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Fenn Street, Fenn Corner Roundabout, A228 Malmaynes Hall Road, A228 Grain Road, Grain Road, High Street, Allhallows Road and Stoke Road in both directions.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable new fibre optic cable and duct installation works -

Esplanade Rochester –

(a) Eastbound traffic over Rochester Bridge to be prohibited from turning right into Esplanade; and

(b) Northbound traffic in Esplanade to be prohibited from turning right into Corporation Street.

Alternative routes will be provided and signed.

This Order will come into force on 20 July 2026, and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
