VARIOUS ROADS, ROCHESTER (COMMUNITY EVENTS)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (NO.2) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to facilitate the construction and removal of structures required for the holding of Rochester Castle Live event, or because of the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the event is taking place –
Traffic Management - To facilitate the holding of the event mentioned in column (1) of the Table, on the dates and between the times set out in the corresponding columns (2) and (3), the traffic management provisions detailed in the Schedule identified in the corresponding column (4) will apply. These provisions will be in force as indicated in the Schedule below.
Alternative routes for through traffic will be signed locally. Access to premises will be maintained where possible.
This order will come into force on Saturday, 27 June 2026 and will cease to have effect on Friday, 10 July 2026. The order will only be effective when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Schedule RCL26-1:
Intermittent Road Closures and Traffic restrictions
Castle Hill from its junction with Esplanade to its junction with Epaul Lane, to include Castle Hill Court – to include suspension of one-way operation to allow resident/event vehicle access.
Epaul Lane from its junction with Castle Hill to its junction with Boley Hill – to include suspension of no entry and one-way operation to allow resident/event vehicle access.
Boley Hill from its junction with High Street to its junction with St Margaret’s Street.
The roads above will be closed intermittently throughout these dates to allow for vehicle/plant ingress and/or egress to the Castle Gardens and Castle Moat areas.

Castle Hill from its junction with Esplanade to its junction with Epaul Lane, to include Castle Hill Court– to include suspension of one-way operation to allow resident and event vehicle access.
Epaul Lane from its junction with Castle Hill to its junction with Boley Hill – to include suspension of no entry and one-way operation to allow event vehicle access.
Boley Hill from its junction with St Margaret’s Street to its junction with High Street, to include its junction with College Yard/Priors Gate Road.
Gas House Road from its northern junction with access road to Castle View Business Centre, entire length – 24/7 Live event days.
Boley Hill at its junction with High Street, suspension of no left or right turn for authorised vehicles only – (0800hrs to midnight, Live event days only).

Road Closures and Traffic restrictions
High Street Rochester from its junction with Corporation Street bus lane to its northwestern junction of Blue Boar Lane - to include suspension of one-way operation and no entry for authorised vehicles only.
Northgate from its junction with Cathedral car park to its junction with High Street.
Esplanade from its junction with High Street to its northern junction with Bakers Walk.
A2 eastbound, prohibited right turn to Esplanade, Rochester.
Corporation Street (Chatham bound) no vehicle is permitted to right turn into Northgate.
Schedule RCL26-4:
Suspension of on-street parking bays as indicated by signs. Suspension of single yellow line restrictions to no parking at any time, as indicated by signs and ‘At any time” cones.

Speed Reductions – No person shall cause any vehicle to exceed the speed limit of 20mph on the following roads:
Corporation Street from its junction with Star Hill to its junction with Gundolph Square (Chatham bound and Strood bound) – speed reduced from 30mph to 20mph.
Gas House Road – its entire length (both directions) - speed reduced from 30mph to 20mph.
Corys Road from its junction of Gas House Road to its junction with Common Creek Wharf (both directions) - speed reduced from 30mph to 20mph.

MIERSCOURT ROAD, RAINHAM
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable works to remove and replace a telecoms mast.
Mierscourt Road, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between 348 Mierscourt Road and its junction with Dolphin Drive. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Lonsdale Drive, Deanwood Drive and Dolphin Drive in both directions.
This order will come into force on Friday, 26 June 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a new electrical connection to be carried out.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out.
Jeffery Street, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the rear of 23 Railway Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. To facilitate access by residents the One-Way restrictions in Jeffery Street will be suspended.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic water supply repairs.
Frindsbury Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from (a) outside No. 175 Frindsbury Road and then (b) outside No. 235 Frindsbury Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected.
