What is happening?

(PENPONT GALA PARADE) 
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGUALTION ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close various roads in Penpont 4/7/26, 12:45 to 13:30. 

Parade route: from primary school via Church Rd, Main St, Grennan Rd and Grennan Pl to Gladstone Park. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate the Penpont Gala Parade. No alternative route is available. Minor delays should be expected for the duration of parade. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

(C31N MOUSWALD VILLAGE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close C31n Kedar Bank, Mouswald from 0800 to 1800 on 07/07/26. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate emptying of public septic tank. 

Alternative route available via C31n, B724, A75 and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained

(F(C)12 MILLENIUM BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close F(C)12 Millenium Bridge from College Street to Greensands, Dumfries from 09:00 on 08/07/2026 to 17:00 on 07/05/2027. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate works area in association with Dumfries flood protection and regeneration project. 

Alternative route available via Nith Avenue, George Street, Buccleuch Street, Glasgow Street, Union Street, College Street and vice versa. Emergency access will not be available if required. Pedestrian and cycle access will not be maintained over the bridge.

(RESURFACING – VARIOUS ROADS, DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

The Council hereby give notice under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of their intention to temporarily close the following roads at the following locations:

The closures are necessary in the interests of road safety to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works. The closures are planned to be undertaken during the period of 06th July 2026 to 04th September 2025 and shall have effect only at such times as indicated by appropriate signs. Emergency Vehicle access will be maintained where practicable. 

Vehicle and pedestrian access to properties within the closed section will be maintained where practicable. Affected properties will be letter dropped appropriately. For more information, Tel – 03033 333 000
