Selsey West Beach Urgent Coastal Defence works

Notice is hereby given that Coastal Partners has applied to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, Part 4, for a marine licence to undertake urgent works to repair failing sea defences along West Beach, Selsey, in West Sussex. The works will involve the encasement of up to 250m of the existing steel sheet pile and concrete apron with longer steel sheet piles, installed seaward of the existing coastal structure. In addition, any sections of the concrete apron found to be in poor condition will be encased in new concrete, and any voids identified beneath the existing apron structure will be infilled with concrete.

In all cases, correspondence must:
- Be received within 28 days of the date of the first notice 24/06/2026
- Quote the case reference; and
- Include an address to which correspondence relating to the
representation or objection may be sent.
The Marine Management Organisation will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
