NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION
ACT 1984 – Various Roads in Crewe/Leighton

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Weston Road, Crewe – From Savoy Road Weston Road Roundabout
to the junction with Weston Road Service Road

Middlewich Road, Woolstanwood – From Coppenhall Lane roundabout to the junction of Brian Palin Way

Brian Palin Way, Leighton – For the full extent.

For specific dates and diversion routes, please visit one.network.

This order will come into operation on Wednesday 17th June 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Thursday 1st October 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF PEDESTRIANS – Public Footpath No. 19 Parish of Haughton and No. 16 (Part) Parish of Stoke and Hurleston

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 8th June 2028. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 19 Haughton which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 601 5627 and runs in a generally east direction for approx. 219m. to OS grid reference SJ 6032 5625. 

That length of Public Footpath No. 16 Stoke and Hurleston which commences at OSGR SJ 6032 5625 and runs in a generally southeast direction for approx. 603 metres to OSGR SJ 6076 5587. 

The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public posed by a bridge that is in a poor state of repair.
