Notice of Making a Public Path Diversion and Defi nitive Map and Statement Modifi cation Order

Public Path Diversion Order 2026

The above order was made on 22 May 2026, under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The effect of the order will be to divert part of Footpath 11, Yetminster as shown on the order map as follows:

From the current route: The full width of the footpath from the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59383 10907 generally north and north north east for 135 metres to the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59397 11033.

To the new route: From the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59383 10907 generally east south east for 25 metres to ST 59409 10904 then generally north north east for 30 metres to ST 59412 10930 continuing north north east for 5 metres to ST 59413 10937, then generally north north east for 38 metres to ST 59417 10975 then generally northwest for 65 metres to the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59397 11033.

Width: 2.1 metres from ST 59383 10907 to ST 59417 10975. 2.5 metres from ST 59417 10975 to ST 59397 11033.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Alastair Beaven, Defi nitive Map Team, Spatial Planning, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ (Ref: RW/P290), or via email to alastair.beaven@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk, not later than 09 July 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council may confi rm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confi rmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.

Temporary Closure of Thornford Road, Sherborne

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 3rd July 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Thornford Road, Sherborne from junction with Wingfi eld Place to junction with A352 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 3910 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Thornford Road, Sherborne from junction with Wingfi eld Place to junction with A352 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 3910 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Closure Of A30, Sherborne (Westbound)

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A30, Sherborne from junction with Sheeplands Lane to junction with Old Compton Lane (in Westbound direction only), a distance of approximately 3900 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 09:30 and 15:30 on 30th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10th July 2026. The road will be reopened to traffi c overnight and at weekends.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.

It will come into operation on 25th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 9th July 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on C34, Kings Stag & Hazelbury Bryan from junction with B3143, Kings Stag to junction with Partway Lane, Hazelbury Bryan (in both directions), a distance of approximately 2470 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Shaftesbury

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Shaftesbury as listed: [i] Old Boundary Road between Salisbury Street and St Rumbolds Road; [ii] St Rumbolds Road in two phases [a] between Old Boundary Road and St Georges Road, [b] between St Georges Road and Christys Lane; [iii] Coppice Street in three phases [a] between High Street and St Martins Lane, [b] between St Martins Lane and 41 Coppice Street, [c] between 41 Coppice Street and Christys Lane.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22nd June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 7th August 2026.

This Order will enable SGN, safe access to carry out essential gas main replacement works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed section.
