What is happening?

STATUTORY PROPOSAL FOR PRESCRIBED ALTERATIONS TO A MAINSTREAM SCHOOL
Notice is given in accordance with The School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools)(England) Regulations 2013 that the 
Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is proposing to:
(1) remove provision for children with Special 
Educational Needs (SEN) at Riverside Primary 
School and Nursery.

It is proposed that the Resourced Provision at the school closes on 31st August 2026. This provision is for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans that identify Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) as their primary need.

Copies of the proposal can be obtained from Gemma Brewerton-School Place Planning Officer by email at schoolplaces@achievingforchildren.org.uk.

The proposal can also be viewed on the borough website at https://rbwmtogether.rbwm.gov.uk/Riverside-Resourced-Provision.

Within four weeks from the date of publication of these proposals (by Thursday 2nd July 2026), any person may object to or make comments on the proposal by using the consultation response form at the above link; by emailing us at schoolplaces@achievingforchildren.org.uk or by writing to Riverside Primary Resourced Provision Consultation, School Places and Capital Team, Zone F, RBWM, Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1RF.
