DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order was made on 6th May 2026 under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed, it will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by upgrading to Restricted Byway status the entire length of Bridleway ER217 which commences at its junction with the public highway known as Eight Acres at NGR TR 2660 4052 (opposite the junction with Public Footpath ER194) and runs in a generally north-easterly through easterly direction for approximately 1056 metres to its junction with ER219 and ER218B at NGR TR 2750 4098. The way has a width of 3 metres, with the exception of the central section between NGR TR 2691 4078 and NGR TR 2709 4089 where the width is 4 metres for a distance of approximately 210 metres.

The above Order was made on 6th May 2026 under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed, it will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:
• adding a Restricted Byway, numbered ER309 and with a width of 3 metres, which commences at a junction with Coombe Road at NGR TR 2738 4125 and runs in a west-south-westerly direction for 218 metres to a junction with Restricted Byway ER218B at NGR TR 2718 4115 (which is recorded subject to the limitation of a field gate at NGR TR 2738 4125);
• upgrading to Restricted Byway status and renumbering to ER218B that section of Bridleway ER218A which commences at NGR TR 2703 4123 at Poulton Farm and runs in a east-south-easterly direction for 175 metres to NGR TR 2718 4115, continuing in a south-easterly through easterly through south-easterly direction for 410 metres to a junction with the existing section of ER218B at NGR TR 2750 4098 (which is recorded with a width of 3.7 metres for the first 175 metres at its northern end (between NGR TR 2703 4123 and its junction with ER309 at NGR TR 2718 4115) and a width of 2.5 metres thereafter, and subject to the limitation of a field gate at NGR TR 2739 4112); and
• upgrading to Restricted Byway status, with a width of 3 metres, that section of Public Footpath ER218B which commences at the aforementioned point at NGR TR 2750 4098 and runs in a easterly direction for 145 metres to a junction with ER192 and ER218C at NGR TR 2765 4100. All directions general, all distances approximate.
