Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Lancashire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Mayfield School, Gloucester Road, Chorley, PR7 3HN.
Mayfield School is a community special school in Chorley, serving children from 2 to 19 years. The council is proposing to increase the number of places the school can offer to pupils, from 130 to 170 from September 2027. It is planned to expand the accommodation on the school site and improve the facilities available to allow for additional pupil numbers at the school.
