What is happening?

(U316S MILLBURN STEET)
(TEMPORARY
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close the U316s Millburn Street, Kirkcudbright, between St Cuthbert Street and Gladstone Place from 0800 on 24/05/26 to 1800 on 25/05/26. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate a Traffic Management set up to carry out BT ducting works in St Cuthberts Street, from the junction of St Mary’s Street to the junction with St Cuthberts Road. No alternative route is available. 

Emergency access will not be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained. 

In addition, at this time, parking will be suspended on St Cuthbert Street, full length (both sides), and Millburn Street from its junction with St Cuthbert Street to No. 59 (both sides).

A713 ABERCROMBY ROAD/ ST ANDREW STREET & C59S COTTON STREET – PARKING SUSPENSION) 
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily suspend parking on A713 Abercromby Road, Castle Douglas, from its junction with Cotton Street to outside No. 1, (both sides). 

A713 St Andrew Street, Castle Douglas, from its junction with Cotton Street to outside No. 28, (western side only), & C59s Cotton Street, Castle Douglas, from its junction with Douglas Place to No. 108, (both sides), from 0930 on 26/05/26 to 0700 on 27/05/26, and only when indicated by display of signs appropriate under the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. 

The temporary suspension of parking is necessary to facilitate the replacement of defective Scottish Water ironwork.

(KIRKCUDBRIGHT HALF MARATHON)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the Kirkcudbright Half Marathon route (with the exception of vehicles engaged in the race) for the purpose of facilitating the holding of this special event from 10:15 until 13:15 Saturday 23/5/26 and shall have effect only at such times as indicated by appropriate traffic signs or under the instruction of a police officer in uniform.
