ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 (as amended)

Merstham Flood Alleviation Scheme

Surrey County Council, as Lead Local Flood Authority for Surrey, gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to create surface water attenuation basins on land north and south of Malmstone Avenue in South Merstham in Surrey.

The proposed improvement works will involve the creation of swales, basins and bunds, and associated drainage and ancillary works on publicly accessible open greenspace land.

The County Council considers the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment. The County Council does not intend to prepare an Environmental Statement in respect of the project.

Copies of the EIA decision are available on request from the County Council’s lead officer for the scheme at the address given below.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed scheme should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
