Medway Council as Local Planning Authority has received the following applications which are being advertised to ascertain the views of persons living near the sites and other interested parties. The proposed developments relate to one or more of the following:

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable carriageway resurfacing and associated works to be carried out -
Hempstead Road, Chatham - to be closed overnight to all vehicular traffic between points opposite No. 5 and No. 48. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Hoath Way, Sharsted Way, Hempstead Valley Drive in both directions.
This order will come into force on Friday, 5 June 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
The works are due to commence on or after Friday, 5 June 2026 and are programmed for completion within one night. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

NORTHWOOD AVENUE, HOO
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable telephone pole maintenance to be carried out -
Northwood Avenue, Hoo - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 6 Northwood Avenue. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Longfield Avenue, Thames Avenue and Northwood Avenue in both directions.

SIR THOMAS LONGLEY ROUNDABOUT, STROOD
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable carriageway resurfacing and associated works to be carried out -
Sir Thomas Longley Roundabout, Strood – the whole roundabout to be closed to all vehicular traffic in stages as the works progress. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Anthonys Way, Berwick Way, Frindsbury Hill, Banks Road, Commissioners Road, Whitewall Road in both directions.
This order will come into force on Thursday, 4 June 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
The works are due to be carried out on Thursday, 4 June 2026 and are programmed for completion within one night (8pm – 6am). The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

ESHCOL ROAD, HOO ST WERBURGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable overhead line reconductoring works to be carried out -
Eshcol Road, Hoo St Werburgh - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Jacobs Lane and the junction with Loverose Way turning. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Stoke Road.
This order will come into force on Sunday, 17 May 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
The works are due to commence on or after Sunday, 17 May 2026 and are programmed for completion within four days. There will be a further closure from Friday, 22 May until Thursday, 28 May (road closed between 7.30am and 5.30pm each day). The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

An inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will hold an inquiry opening on the date shown above to decide the appeal.
