WATLING STREET, GILLINGHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable resurfacing works out due to surface failure -

Watling Street, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between opposite Darland Avenue and Woodlands Road (eastbound lanes only). Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Barnsole Road, Gillingham Road, Ingram Road, A289 Pier Road, A289 Yokosuka Way, Ito Way, A2.

This order will come into force on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence 8pm on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 and are programmed for completion within 3 nights (with work taking place overnight between 8pm and 6am). The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

VARIOUS FOOTPATH CLOSURES - ISLE OF GRAIN

TEMPORARY CLOSURES FOR SAFETY REASONS

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary closures on footpaths for safety reasons to enable overhead electricity cable and pylon repair and replacement works to be carried out -

RS10 – the footpath from Binney Road to Yantlet Creek;

RS360 – the footpath linking RS10 with RS4; and

RS4 – the footpath from Halstow Marshes to Stoke Great Fleet.

Where available alternative routes will be signed as appropriate.

This order will come into force on 25 May 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are scheduled to be completed by 14 July 2026. Should any works require more than six months to complete, application will be made to the Secretary of State for the order to be extended.

The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

WAGHORN STREET, CHATHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable carriageway resurfacing and associated works to be carried out -

Waghorn Street, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between its junctions with Portland Road and Listmas Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Portland Road, Magpie Hall Road, and Listmas Road in both directions.

This order will come into force on Friday, 29 May 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Friday, 29 May 2026 and are programmed for completion within one day. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

TUFTON ROAD, RAINHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a communication pipe to be replaced -

Tufton Road, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction with Station Road to its junction with Webster Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Berengrave Lane, Childscroft Road and Station Road in both directions.

This order will come into force on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 2 June 2026 and are programmed for completion within three days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

STATION ROAD, RAINHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to permit routine investigations to monitor flow meter readings to check for flooding risk -

Station Road, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of Signal Court. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via A2 High Street, Otterham Quay Lane, Lower Rainham Road and return.

This order will come into force on Tuesday, 11 May 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 11 May 2026 and are programmed for completion within one day. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

SEYMOUR ROAD, GILLINGHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -

Seymour Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic for the entire length. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Seymour Road, Moor Street, Otterham Quay Lane, Canterbury Lane, Seymour Road and return.

This order will come into force on Monday, 1 June 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 1 June 2026 and are programmed for completion within three days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

FRINDSBURY HILL, ROCHESTER:

BANNED LEFT TURN - NOTICE OF PROPOSAL

THE MEDWAY COUNCIL (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (VARIOUS ROADS) (NO.2) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council propose to make the above-mentioned order under sections 1, 2, and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the order would be, in connection with network improvements relating to Maritime Academy, to prohibit northbound vehicles proceeding in Frindsbury Hill from turning left into Chalk Lane.

3. Plans of the proposed measures may be inspected at the offices of Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except for bank and public holidays). Alternatively, electronic copies of the documents can be requested by sending an email to: trafficmanagement@medway.gov.uk. Electronic copies are requested on the understanding that it may take up to five working days for the request to be processed and the copies sent.

4. Any objections or other representations to the proposed measures should be sent in writing by email to trafficmanagement@medway.gov.uk or by post to Traffic Management Team at the address specified in paragraph 3 above, by 22 May 2026, stating name, address and grounds for objection or support.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable carriageway resurfacing and associated works to be carried out -

Marley Way, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between its junctions with The Tideway and Dorrit Way. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Dorrit Way, Fleet Road, The Fairway and The Tideway in both directions.

This order will come into force on Saturday, 23 May 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on Saturday, 23 May 2026 and are programmed for completion within one day. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
