PRE-APPLICATION PUBLIC CONSULTATION EVENTS
The Education Authority is in the process of developing plans for a new post primary school to relocate Cullybackey
College from its existing Pottinger Street site to a new site on the Dreen Road, Cullybackey.
Proposal
Redevelopment of Cullybackey College on Dreen Road site to include creation of new 700 pupil post-primary building,
hard play areas, sports pitches, car parking, landscaping and associated site works. Road works include new roundabout,
carriageway and pedestrian arrangements at Dreen Road and Cardonaghy Road junction.
Location of Proposed Development
Lands to the north, south and west of no. 41 Dreen Road and including no. 130 Cardonaghy Road, ullybackey BT42 1EB
Consultation Events
As part of this process, the Education Authority wishes to formally invite you to view the proposed plans for the site and
discuss the project with the Design Team who will be attending. The Public Consultation Event for the redevelopment
project will take place at:
Cullybackey College, 44 Pottinger Street, Cullybackey, Ballymena BT42 1BP on 14 th

May 2026 between 4pm and 7pm

In addition to this, a Digital Public Consultation will take place between Tuesday 28 th April – Tuesday 26 th May 2026 via
the following website. The website will include the proposed plans and an online feedback form so that any comments
can be easily returned to the Design Team.

Further information relating to the proposal may be obtained from Resolve Planning, Pearl Assurance House, 1 Donegall
Square East, Belfast, BT1 5HB. If you wish to make comments on the proposal, you may do so at the above event or in
writing to Sarah McDowell at Resolve Planning. Comments to be received no later than Tuesday 26 th May 2026.
This notice does not relate to a planning application. Comments should not be made to the Planning Department at
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. Any comments made to the prospective applicant are not representations to the
planning authority. If a planning application is subsequently submitted to Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s
Planning Department, normal neighbour notification and publicity will be undertaken, and you will have the
opportunity to make formal representation regarding the proposal at that time.
