THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2017 (AS AMENDED)

Medway Council as Local Planning Authority has received the following applications which are being advertised to ascertain the views of persons living near the sites and other interested parties. The proposed developments relate to one or more of the following:

1. The site of the application is within/affecting the setting of a designated Conservation Area (Section 73) of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990;

2. The application relates to, or affects the setting of a Listed Building (Section 67) of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990;

BEACON HILL, CHATHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable new electrical connection works to be carried out -

Beacon Hill, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between its junction with Nelson Terrace and its junction with Luton Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Beacon Hill, Church Terrace, Luton High Street and return.

This order will come into force on Thursday, 26 March 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Thursday, 26 March 2026 and are programmed for completion within seven days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

HIGHAM ROAD, CLIFFE

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a decayed telegraph pole to be removed and replaced -

Higham Road, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from a point approximately 50 metres east of its junction with West Street for approximately 100 metres in an easterly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via West Street, Buttway Lane and Church Street and return in both directions.

This order will come into force on Thursday, 16 April 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Thursday, 16 April 2026 and are programmed for completion within one day. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

RATCLIFFE HIGHWAY, ST MARY HOO

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable works to install a new water main - Ratcliffe Highway, St Mary Hoo - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from the entrance to Fenn Bell Zoo Overflow Parking to the junction with Newlands Farm Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Fenn Street, Ratcliffe Highway, Stoke Road, Allhallows Road, High Street, Grain Road, Malmaynes Hall Road, Fenn Street and Ratcliffe Highway and return.

This order will come into force on Tuesday, 7 April 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 7 April 2026 and are programmed for completion within 10 days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

SIDNEY ROAD, BORSTAL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable utility works to be carried out - Sidney Road, Borstal – the urban footway linking Sidney Road and Nashenden Lane to be closed. An alternative route will be available and signed.

This order will come into force on Monday, 20 April 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 20 April 2026 and are programmed for completion within five days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

MALVERN ROAD, GILLINGHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable joint bays for LV mains and new service connections to be excavated -

Malvern Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 52 Malvern Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Seaton Road, Cleave Road, Watling Street in both directions.

This order will come into force on Monday, 20 April 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 20 April 2026 and are programmed for completion within five days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
