(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the length of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with repair, maintenance and replacement of telecommunications mast.
The order became operative from 16 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works.
It is anticipated that the works will take place between 8am and 6pm on the dates specified in column 2 of the said Schedule.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Chesley Hill which extends from Holbrook Lane south westwards for 696m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with overhead fibre cabling works.
The order became operative from 17 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.
Alternative route: Holbrook Lane, Naishcombe Hill, A420 Church Road, A420 Riding Barn Hill, A420 Homeapple Hill and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of B4057 Beacon Lane which extends from B4057 Winterbourne Road to a point in line with Brookside Cottage, a distance of 255m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pre surface dressing patching works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 18 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration, between 8pm and 6am.
Alternative route: Beacon Lane (part unaffected), B4058, A4174, Stoke Gifford Bypass, Great Stoke Way and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new electricity supply works.
The order became operative from 19 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of The Lane which extends from a point 730m north of Charfield Road northwards for 180m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works.
The order became operative from 20 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.
Alternative route: The Lane (parts unaffected), Damery Hill, Swinhay Lane, New Street, Wotton Road, Charfield Road and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:- a) close, temporarily, to vehicles the length of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) suspend, temporarily, when signs are covered, the South Gloucestershire Council (Park Road, Staple Hill) (Prohibition of use by
Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2002 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works.
The order will be
operative from 6 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The measures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon old main renovation works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 6 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works.
It is anticipated that the works at each location will be carried out on the dates specified in column 2 of the said Schedule.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon carriageway patching works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 6 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.
Alternative route: Castle Lane, Middledown Road, A46, Dunsdown Lane, West Littleton Road (part unaffected) and vice versa.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with duct laying works.
The order will be operative from 6 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Chippenham Road which extends from A46 north eastwards for 550m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway resurfacing and reconstruction works.
The order will be operative from 6 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration, between 8pm and 6am.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Winterbourne Road which extends from a point 400m north east of Hatchet Road eastwards for 200m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works.
The order will be operative from 6 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with gas mains replacement works.
The order will be operative from 7 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Cyclepath Beck Close by 14 to Pinkers Mead by 82 which extends from Beck Close to Church Farm Road.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon surface drain diversion works.
The order will be operative from 7 April 2026 for a maximum period of six months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 months duration.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works.
The order will be operative from 7 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 11 days duration.

(Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that on 4 March 2026 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is to prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in lengths of Anstey’s Road, Church Road, Hawthorn Avenue, Henbury Road, Memorial Road and New Walk, Hanham.
Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; Post Office services; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles which display a disabled person’s badge.
The order will come into operation on 16 March 2026 and a copy thereof together with a map and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected at the Kingswood One Stop Shop, Kingswood Civic Centre, Kingswood during normal opening hours.
Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
