(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable resurfacing works due to surface failure to be carried out.

Albemarle Road, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction with North Dane Way to Lordswood Lane roundabout. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via North Dane Way, Lordswood Lane, Clandon Road and return.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 9 March 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 9 March 2026 and are programmed for completion within 4 nights (with works taking place between 8pm and 6am). The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(ALLISON AVENUE, GILLINGHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic To enable works to carry out a mains fitting repair.

Allison Avenue, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic at its junction with Darland Avenue. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Allison Avenue, Preston Avenue, Hunters Way, Darland Avenue and return.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 7 April 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 7 April 2026 and are programmed for completion within 4 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(PERRY HILL, CLIFFE WOODS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a decayed telegraph pole to be replaced.

Perry Hill, Cliffe Woods - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of Perry Hill Farm. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Cooling Street, Cooling Common and return

This Order will come into force on Monday, 16 March 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. VARIATION OF FEES FOR HACKNEY CARRIAGE AND PRIVATE HIRE

VEHICLE LICENCES AND OPERATOR LICENCES

Pursuant to Section 70 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, the council proposes to vary the annual fees levied in respect of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Licences and Operators Licences with effect from 2 April 2026 as listed below:

Any objections to the variation must be made in writing and emailed to licensing@gravesham.gov.uk by midnight on 1 April 2026.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic To enable a new electrical connection to be carried out -

Beacon Hill, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction with Nelson Terrace to its junction with Luton Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Beacon Hill, Church Terrace, Luton High Street and return.

This Order will come into force on Thursday, 26 March 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Thursday, 26 March 2026 and are programmed for completion within 7 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a new gas connection to be made.

Higham Road, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 36 Higham Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Higham Road, Buckland Road, Rectory Road, Station Road and vice-versa.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 7 April 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN & CYCLE ZONE (SCHOOL STREET) AND ADDITIONAL MEASURES

NOTICE OF PROPOSALS

MEDWAY COUNCIL (SCHOOL STREET AND PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

1. Notice is hereby given that Medway Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to:

(a) introduce a “pedestrian and cycle zone” (school street) in the vicinity of King’s School, Rochester, comprising of the following roads:

(i) St Margaret’s Street (between Vines Lane and Roebuck Road);

(ii) King Edward Road; and

(iv) Lockington Grove.

Motor vehicles would be prohibited from entering the pedestrian and cycle zone between 8am and 9am and between 3.45pm and 4.45pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for permit holders. Virtual permits would be available to residents of premises located within or only accessible from the pedestrian and cycle zone on application to the Council. Exemptions would apply to vehicles of those dropping off or picking up students with special educational needs or who are disabled (provided that such vehicles are registered with the school), emergency services vehicles, local buses (in St Margaret’s Street), school buses and other service vehicles and utility vehicles (in an emergency only). Vehicles used by school staff requiring access to parking facilities within school grounds would also be exempt. Any vehicle that is within the pedestrian and cycle zone prior to the start of the hours of operation would be permitted to leave.

(b) extend the existing south-westbound one-way restriction for vehicles in St Margaret’s Street so that it would apply between a point 15.5 metres south of the south-western kerb-line of Vines Lane and the northern kerb-line of Watts Avenue. As a result, vehicles would no longer be permitted to enter St Margaret’s Street from the junction with Watts Avenue;

(c) introduce a north-westbound one-way restriction for vehicles in Roebuck Road, (whole length). As a result, vehicles would no longer be permitted to turn left from St Margaret’s Street into Roebuck Road;

(d) prohibit vehicles from entering Watts Avenue at its junction with Roebuck Road; and

(e) prohibit vehicles from entering King Edward Road at its junction with Maidstone Road.

3. Further notice is given that the council, under sections 90A-F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, propose to construct two road humps in Roebuck Road, outside No. 21 and outside No. 2A (“Brunner”). The road humps would be constructed over the full width of the carriageway and will be approximately 3.7 metres in length with a maximum height of 75mm.

4. Please note that this Notice supersedes the Notices published in March and April 2025 in relation to any of the measures referred to above.

5. Copies of the proposed Order, plans and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be inspected at the front reception, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except for bank and public holidays. Electronic copies of the documents can be requested by sending an email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk on the understanding that requests may take up to 5 working days to be completed.

6. Any objections or other representations to the proposed Order or proposed road humps should be sent in writing by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk or by post to “Parking Design team” at the address specified in paragraph 4 above, by Friday, 27 March 2026 to be considered, stating name, address and grounds for objection or support.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic To enable works to excavate joint bays for LV mains and new services to a property.

Lower Rainham Road, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic at its junction with Station Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Lower Rainham Road, Yokosuka Way, Beechings Way, Pump Lane, London Road, Station Road and return.

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable replacement of a decayed telegraph pole.

Ivy Street, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction with High Street (A2) for approximately 50 metres in a northerly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via High Street (A2), Station Road, Hothfield Road and return.
