OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY
(DESIGNATION) ORDER 2026


Notice is hereby given that Natural England proposes to make an Order designating land as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The effect of this Order once made, would be to designate the land to which the Order relates as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The draft Yorkshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Designation) Order 2026 relates to an area of approximately 463 square kilometres in the unitary authorities of East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire encompassing:

an inland area: comprising the north and west escarpment of the Wolds, the foothills south of Malton and the High Wolds and their valley system; and
a coastal area: extending around Flamborough Head between Reighton and Sewerby Rocks.

If, once made, the Order is subsequently confirmed by the Secretary of State, its effect will be to designate this land as the Yorkshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A copy of the draft Order, and the maps referred to therein, will be deposited at each of the places mentioned below, and will be open for inspection free of charge, as indicated, from the 4th day of February 2026 until the 6th day of March 2026, at:
