ROTHER LOCAL PLAN
Regulation 18 of The Town and Country Planning
(Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

Rother District Council is preparing a new Local Plan. It will guide development and land use in our area.

Copies of the Draft Rother Local Plan 2025–2042 – Development Strategy and Site Allocations (the Draft Local Plan) and supporting documents will be available online for a period of eight weeks commencing on Monday 26 January 2026 and ending on Monday 23 March 2026 at 5:00pm.

The Draft Local Plan and the accompanying documents can be viewed on Rother District Council’s website by using the following link:

You can view hard copies of the Draft Local Plan during the consultation period at Bexhill Town Hall, Bexhill Library, Battle Library, Rye Library, Northiam Community Library and Wadhurst Library.

Any person, business or organisation may comment on the Plan or supporting documents. These can be submitted online via the consultation portal.

The Council also accepts comments by email or post using the consultation form, which can be found on the consultation page. Completed comments form can be sent by email to

draftlocalplan@rother.gov.uk

or by post to The Planning Policy Team, Rother District Council, Town Hall, Bexhill-on-Sea, TN39 3JX

All comments must be received by the Council no later than 5:00pm on Monday 23 March 2026. Submissions received after this deadline cannot be considered.

Please note that all comments will be publicly available and will be forwarded for consideration by the person appointed to carry out an examination of the Plan.
