Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015 (COMAH)

Safety Information and Emergency Advice for the Community
Confirmation of Siren Test at Diageo Leven
Saturday 7th February 2026 between 10am and 5pm.

As a business that handles large quantities of dangerous substances i.e. alcohol, Diageo Leven is legally required to comply with the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) legislation.

As part of this legislation, we must be able to alert our neighbours in the unlikely event of a major accident. We do this by sounding a siren as an audible warning to the local community. In order to ensure the siren continues to be operational we are also required to conduct an annual test.
The date of this year’s test will be Saturday 7th February.

Please note that during the test there is no requirement for you to take any action on hearing the sirens.

Our operations have not changed, the hazards have not increased, and the likelihood of an incident is no greater than before – the test is simply to ensure that the siren remains operational in the event of an emergency.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in this matter.

If you have any questions on the above, please contact 01333 433051.
