What is happening?

NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF DERBYSHIRE
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (UPGRADE BRIDLEWAY NO. 50 TO A RESTRICTED BYWAY- PARISH OF NEW MILLS) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025


The above Order made on 10 December 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by upgrading Public Bridleway No. 50 to a Restricted Byway– Parish of New Mills.
A copy of the Order and the map are available to view on the Council website at:

. Documents can also be seen free of charge at County Hall, Matlock during normal office hours where copies may be bought at the price of £1.00 or at New Mills Library, Hall Street, New Mills, High Peak, SK22 4AR during normal opening hours.
Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Deputy Director of Legal Services at the address below or by email to

not later than Thursday, 29 January 2026 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Derbyshire County Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
