The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences at Anderby Creek Downstream Debris Screen (NGR TF5547075899), Ingoldmells Downstream Debris Screen NGR TF575446873, Boygrift Downstream Debris Screen (NGR TF5355880008).

The proposed improvement works will involve the replacement of the existing outlet screens with CIRIA C786 compliant screens.

The works will include safety improvements and sediment management measures.

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them.

The main reasons for not intending to prepare an environmental statement include:
• The works are small-scale and localised.
• No critical infrastructure is affected.
• Mitigation measures include timing works around beach
nourishment campaigns and using corrosion-resistant materials suitable for marine environments.

Additional information concerning the improvement works, including the Detailed Design Report, is available from the Environment Agency.

Please email LNADebrisScreens@environment-agency.gov.uk, and we will provide the details.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
