What is happening?

(Church Street & Haslingfield Road) (20mph Zone & 40mph) Speed Limit Order 20--
Cambridgeshire County Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 80-84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with schedule 9 to the Act the effect of which will be to:
Introduce a 20mph speed zone on Church Street from its junction with Royston Road (A10) until a point 204 metres west of Button End. Introduce a 40mph speed limit on Haslingfield Road at a point 204 metres west of Button End to a point 610 metres west of the same point.
The draft Order, together with a map showing the roads and lengths of road concerned and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined at the office of the undersigned and at Shelford Library CB22 5LZ during normal office hours.
Objections to the proposal, together with the grounds on which they are made or any additional comments, must be sent in writing to the undersigned, or by using the https://consultation.appyway.com/ portal or by email to policyandregulation@cambridgeshire.gov.uk by 7th January 2026 quoting reference PR1180.
