(Church Lane, Great Waltham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Lane, Great Waltham in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 60m north east of its junction with Main Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly, easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th January 2026 for 5 days, (the works will be in 2 stages) or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2394085 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/ or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching defect works repairs. Works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Church Lane, Main Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Cow Watering Lane, Writtle) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cow Watering Lane, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 810m north west of its junction with Lordship Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th January 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30088965117 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks. An alternative route is available via Cow Watering Lane, Victoria Road, Ongar Road, Lordship Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Downham Road, Ramsden Heath) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Downham Road, Ramsden Heath in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Crowsheath Lane a distance of approximately 1175m.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (City of Chelmsford) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 5th January 2026 for 26 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2393093 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage improvement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via School Road, Sudbury Road, Hawkswood Road, Dowsett Lane, Downham Road, Church Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Littley Green Road, Great Waltham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Littley Green Road, Great Waltham in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 150m north east of its junction with Littley Park Lane for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th January 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30046460377 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks. An alternative route is available via Littley Green Road, Felsted Road, School Lane, Main Road, A131, B1008, Chatham Hall Lane, Hyde Hall Lane, Littley Green Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(London Road, Danbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of London Road, Danbury in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Runsell Lane to its junction with Runsell Green a distance of approximately 135m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th January 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001468794 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent. An alternative route is available via Runsell Green, London Road, Old London Road, London Road, Spital Road, Wycke Hill, Maldon Road Oak Corner, Chelmsford Road, Maldon Road, London Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Maldon Road, Margaretting) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Margaretting in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 565m north east then south east of its junction with Parsonage Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th January 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03767072715 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pumping station maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Maldon Road, London Hill, Margaretting Road, B1007, A1114, A414, B1002, Maldon Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Maldon Road, Margaretting) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Margaretting in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 290m north east of its junction with Orton Close for a distance of approximately 90m south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-2318 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new sewer connection works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via Maldon Road, Margaretting Road, London Hill, Margaretting Road, B1007, A1114, London Road, B1002 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Roman Road, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Roman Road, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Hall Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001464410 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via
1. North Bound: Grove Road, Mildmay Road, Hall Street.
2. South Bound: Orchard Street, Moulsham Street, Grove Road.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Watchouse Road, Galleywood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Watchouse Road, Galleywood in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Deadmans Lane to its junction with Wells Lane for a distance of approximately 1215m.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (City of Chelmsford) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2362843 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cctv survey and root cutting works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Galleywood Road, Vicarage Lane, High Street, Baddow Road, Beehive Lane, Stock Road, Watchouse Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Baker Street, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Baker Street, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 50m south west of its junction with New Writtle Street for a distance of approximately 15m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M148626 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while replacement of boundary box works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Lower Anchor Street, New London Road, New Writtle Street and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Dixon Avenue, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on that length of road specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 27th November 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of South Hanningfield Road, South Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 420m south west of its junction with Middlemead for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th December 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WG7LHP5V – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via: South Hanningfield Road, Hawkswood Road, Brock Hill, Church End Lane, A132, B1012, B1418, Priory Road, Bicknacre Road, The Tye, Main Road, East Hanningfield Road, Main Road, South Hanningfield Road and vice versa.
