BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE

A58 MANCHESTER ROAD, ROCHDALE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council made an Order, the effect of which is to;

(i) Temporarily prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along Manchester Road from its junction opposite Tweedale Street to its junction with The Bent on the westerly footway for a distance of 370 metres.

The Order is required to facilitate Bee Network Cycleway Works within the carriageway.

The Order will be operative from 07:30 on the 1st December 2025 until 16:30 on the 25th January 2026.

The alternative route for pedestrians & cyclists will be signed on site.

(A58 MANCHESTER ROAD, ROCHDALE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES TURNING LEFT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES TURNING RIGHT) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to;

(i) Temporarily prohibit the left turn onto New Barn Lane from Manchester Road Southbound

(ii) Temporarily prohibit the right turn onto Manchester Road – Old Section from Manchester Road Southbound

(iii) Temporarily prohibit the straight on & right turn manoeuvre onto Manchester Road Northbound & Manchester Road – Old Section from New Barn Lane

(iv) Temporarily prohibit the right turn onto New Barn Lane from Manchester Road Northbound

(v) Temporarily prohibit the straight on & right turn manoeuvre onto Manchester Road Southbound & New Barn Lane from Manchester Road – Old Section

The Order is required to facilitate the safe installation of the Bee Network Cycleway within the carriageway.

The Order will be operative from 08:00 on the 12th December 2025 until 20:00 on the 19th March 2026.

The alternative route for vehicles wishing to access New Barn Lane will be Tweedale Street, Freehold Street, Merefield Street, New Barn Lane.

The alternative route for vehicles wishing to access Manchester Road – Old Section from New Barn Lane & Manchester Road Southbound will be Manchester Road Southbound, Edinburgh Way Southbound, clockwise at the roundabout on Edinburgh Way Northbound, Manchester Road Northbound.

All alternative routes will be signed on site.

(VARIOUS STREETS, ROCHDALE) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY WORKING, TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT AND LEFT TURN, TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME AND TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to:-

(i) Temporarily introduce one-way working on Ings Lane in a northerly direction along the westerly carriageway, from its junction with Edenfield Road to its junction with Rooley Moor Road, in so far as vehicles will not be permitted to travel along Ings Lane in a southerly direction from its junction with Rooley Moor Road to its junction with Edenfield Road,

(ii) Temporarily Prohibit vehicles from taking a right turn from Lisbon Street onto Ings Lane,

(iii) Temporarily Prohibit vehicles from taking a right turn from Great Flatt onto Ings Lane,

(iv) Temporarily Prohibit vehicles from taking a left turn from Innes Close onto Ings Lane,

(v) Temporarily Prohibit vehicles from taking a right turn from Cutgate Road onto Ings Lane,

(vi) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along: -

• Wilbutts Lane – from its junction with Sandy Lane to its junction with Churchill Street,

• Phoenix Street – from its junction with Ings Lane, for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.

(vii) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time on: -

• Ings Lane – both sides from its junction with Rooley Moor Road to its junction with Edenfield Road.

The Order is required to facilitate a safe and convenient location to park away team supporter coaches attending matches at Spotland Stadium.

The closure of Wilbutts Lane is required to safely vacate supporters away from the stadium. The order will be operative from 00:01 hours on the 1st January 2026 until 23:59 hours on 31st December 2026.

The order will only be implemented on event days at Spotland Stadium when required and when the appropriate signage is in place.

The alternative route for vehicles along Wilbutts Lane is via Sandy Lane, Edenfield Road, Churchill Street and vice-versa.

The alternative route for vehicles along Phoenix Street is via Churchill Street, Rooley Moor Road and vice-versa. The alternative route for vehicles along Ings Lane (southbound) is via Ings Lane (northbound), Caldershaw Road and Edenfield Road (A680).
