Westwood Lane - Attending the High Court to Ask for a Final Injunction Against the Land

What is happening?

Land known as Wanborough Fields, located to the west of Westwood Lane, Wanborough, hereafter entitled “The Land”

On the 21st - 23rd January 2026 (hearing time estimate three days), Guildford Borough Council (the “Claimant”) will be attending the High Court to ask for a Final Injunction against the Land.

The Council is seeking a Final Order to confirm the prohibitory requirements already set out in the Interim Injunction Order of Andrew Kinnier KC (DHCJ) relating to the Land (dated 31st July 2025, and as amended on the 1st August 2025).

In addition the Council will also seek a number of mandatory steps to form part of the Final Order requiring the removal of all unauthorised development.

This includes all hardstanding, fencing, building and structures and all unauthorised uses including unauthorised storage and residential uses.

This order is sought against named defendants and also Persons Unknown as the Council considers there is compelling justification in these circumstances.

Should you be personally affected by the injunction sought or have a genuine interest in the Land, including if you are considering occupying or buying any part of the Land in the future, you should be aware of the abovementioned proceedings.

The specific court room will be published in the afternoon on 20 January 2026 before the scheduled hearing on the Court’s website. Any breach of the existing Interim Injunction Orders and any Final Order may be pursued further by the Council through Contempt of Court proceedings. If found guilty of Contempt of Court you could face a fine or imprisonment.
