Scotland is producing more clean, green energy than ever before, and we need to strengthen the transmission network so we can get it to the homes, schools and businesses that need it.
To help make this happen we need to build a new substation at Conland, near Glenrothes, with access from Hill Road, between Leslie and Falkland.
This will allow the voltage of the overhead lines between Tealing (north of Dundee) and Kincardine to be increased from 275kV (275,000 volts) to 400kV, creating greater network capacity so that more energy can be moved from where it’s generated to where it’s needed.
We consulted local people on our draft plans in April–May this year.
We are now consulting on our detailed proposals for the new Conland substation and changes to existing overhead lines.
We are holding two public exhibitions where you can view the plans and talk to the project team.
Public exhibitions:
Wednesday 03 December, 2pm to 7pm:
Newton of Falkland Village Hall, Main Street, Newton of Falkland, Cupar, KY15 7QX
Thursday 04 December, 12pm to 5pm:
