What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Nags Head Lane, South Weald/Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nags Head Lane, South Weald/Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from the junction with Brook Street for a distance of approximately 595m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (N5004P103818N0024605-R6 & N5004P103818N0024605-R7 – The Electricity Network Company Limited).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by The Electricity Network Company Limited.

An alternative route is available via Nags Head Lane, Warley Road, B186, B185, A1023 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 3rd December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
